Phee is leaving the band

Message from Fireflight:
As many of you may know, Fireflight has been together as a band for 11 years now. We have played countless shows together, toured together, laughed together, cried together, and have had many accomplishments together. But, today we have some bittersweet news for all of our amazing fans. Our drummer and brother of 9 years, Philip “Phee” Shorb is leaving the band to follow another ministry path. While we are sad to see Phee leave, we understand that God’s calling on ones life, and changes are sometimes difficult. We also know that these things are necessary for us to grow personally and in ministry. This is what Phee wishes to convey…

“I want to say thank you to all of the Fireflight fans for enriching my life with your love and support over the past 9 years.  Please pray for me as I answer God's call to begin a new ministry as a Christian Speaker.  It has been my highest honor to help make and perform music that blesses people with the hope and love of God.  To Glenn, Wendy, Justin, and Dawn, I love you guys so much and will miss you terribly.  God bless!”

We want to give a heartfelt thanks to Phee for all of his years of ministry and talent. We also wish him well in all of his pursuits and pray that all of you do the same.

With that being said, we are very excited to announce the newest addition to our Fireflight family! A fantastic young man by the name of Adam McMillion (yes…McMillion) will be joining us from behind the drum kit. Adam is an enthusiastic and talented musician with an even better spirit. We pray that all of you will embrace him with the same love and acceptance that you have shown the rest of us for so many years.

We are looking forward to seeing all of you out on the road real soon! Fireflight will be heading out this spring for “The Overcome Tour”. You can check out our posted dates to see if we will be on your area. We will also be heading back into the studio this fall to record our fourth studio album…so stay tuned for that!

We cannot express our excitement for the future of this band and ministry!

God Bless,
Dawn, Justin, Wendy, and Glenn

Message from Phee Shorb:
Today, an important announcement was made.  Many of you follow me specifically for the career I have made in Christian music.  What I have done with my band for the past 9 years has been my life.  It started with God speaking to me at the age of 16 and telling me I would find a great Christian rock band in need of a drummer and that band would find great success and critical acclaim with me on the drums.  Less than a year later, I auditioned for that band.  I have been through thick and thin with my fellow band members.  More than anything else I have ever been involved in, God has used my experience with my band to mold and craft me into the man I am today.  I will always be loyal to my band's ministry and its members.  But that day, at the age of 16, God also revealed to me that he had a 2nd mission for me, subsequent to a successful Christian music career.

I am extremely excited to let everyone know that I am stepping out, away from my music career to begin pursuing speaking ministry on a full-time basis.  That has not been an easy decision for me.  I took a lot of time to be absolutely sure that this is what God wants me to do.  I thank God that He has made himself abundantly clear on this.  I also thank God for how He has already blessed this decision.  I hope that all of you will share in my assured expectency for enormous things ahead for this ministry.

Love,
Phee
